I've lived with Peachfront Conures Aratinga aurea for 30 years. I've bred 'em, trained 'em, even visited Bolivia to observe them in the wild. For more about me, click right here.

three o'clock mixed vegetable salad update
Recently, I've been putting out a chopped vegetable salad with a little vitamin A on it for the salad dressing, leaving it out every day from 3 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Cookie, the yellow-crowned amazon, is happy to clean his bowl. However, the peachfronted conures usually just pick out all the corn. It's perfectly understandable why people throw up their hands and go back to pellets. In fact, I'll be ready when it's cool enough...
What always tickles me is how neatly they eat it, leaving the "skin" of the corn behind. Not just the peachfronts. Cookie eats this delicately as well.
