I've lived with Peachfront Conures Aratinga aurea for 30 years. I've bred 'em, trained 'em, even visited Bolivia to observe them in the wild. For more about me, click right here.

It's the dog days of summer, and the greens have long ago bolted. Argh. Have you kept up with feeding greens to your Peachfront Conures? When it's too hot to pull fresh greens from our own gardens, there's always the freezer section at your local grocer's. Chopped spinach, chopped broccoli, and, always, chopped turnip greens are good choices. Defrost them along with some mixed veggies in the microwave, and stir them up, and you've got a "hot" chopped salad. Yah, I know, it seems weird. Hot salad in the summer. But it works. It's fast. And it's important. You never want to slack off on the sources of vitamin K, since it may prevent Conure Bleeding Syndrome in our precious pets.
