hey, there's a color illo of peachfronted conures in bates and busenbark

Awhile back, when I was looking through the literature for articles and photos about Peachfronted Conures, I talked about the black and white photo of three peachfronts in Bates and Busenbark's Parrots and Related Birds.

No clue how I overlooked the fact that there's a beautiful color portrait also included in that book. In my edition, the plate is on page 344, with a comment to the effect that the Peachfront, here called Golden-crown, is "Similar to the Petz' Conure but more attractive." The one in the photo has a large, perfect eye ring, splendid for photography. I wonder how many Peachfronts photographer Horst Muller checked out to find that beauty for his model. The bird is posed perfectly too...

If your library needs Bates & Busenbark, or another classic of aviculture, the Duke of Bedford, go through one of my Amazon buttons, and help support the site. Thanks. Well, if you buy the one penny versions, I won't get a cut of a penny, but you'll get a good deal, so go for it anyway. :-)

By the way, if anyone knows of any other books that include Peachfront Conure photographs or information, please let me know. I would also be interested to know if a Peachfronted Conure has ever appeared in a work of fiction.
