new perch wars, continued!

Another cold night, although not the threatened "hard freeze." I woke up once, maybe around 12:30 or so, and peeked out. Sheldon and Ronnie were snug in their nest box, heated by the warmth of the lamp, but Dale was alone in hers, while Courtney was stubbornly perched away from the box and lamp. This morning, all heck broke loose at 7:30 sharp. I thought it was Courtney putting up the fuss, but what it turned out to be was that Courtney had finally figured out that he could sit on the foo-foo new perch and be directly under the heat lamp where he could warm up his old bones. Since he had refused to step foot on the perch ever since it was installed, Dale quite reasonably assumed that the perch was hers, and she was cussing him out for using it. Of course, there is plenty of room for both of them to snuggle there together...I went out and told them to quit bickering. Awhile later, DH woke up and reported that he saw them sitting together on the perch. Finally.
