9:29 a.m. 2012-06-14 hard corn, why oh why and what to do with itFrom my September 1994 BIRD TALK article: …my [Peachfronts] turn up their beaks at hard corn, which is mysteriously omnipresent in medium to large hookbill mixes even though it seems to be too hard for birds (my birds, anyway) to eat. However, when I soak it to the point of beginning to sprout, watch out! The birds will clean the dish in their enthusiasm for the young corn.
