I've lived with Peachfront Conures Aratinga aurea for 30 years. I've bred 'em, trained 'em, even visited Bolivia to observe them in the wild. For more about me, click right here.

9:15 a.m. 2012-09-04 fingersI've been reading some stories around the internet and, people, really. Do not jab your fingers into your Peachfront Conure's cage or, really, into any New World parrot's cage. That is home. Sacred territory. A bird's cage is its castle! Sticking your fingers in there is just rude. Instead, teach your pet to "step up" automatically on request onto a perch, so that you can easily lift and carry the Peachfront out of the cage to the play gym, your shoulder, or wherever else. Have a little respect for your pet's personal space.
