I've lived with Peachfront Conures Aratinga aurea for 30 years. I've bred 'em, trained 'em, even visited Bolivia to observe them in the wild. For more about me, click right here.

10:05 p.m. 2012-06-25 another way to get peachfronted conures to batheI guess Peachfronts are susceptible to social proof, because one way that I can pretty much guarantee that some of my Peachfronts will jump in the dog dish for a bath is to start showering my Yellow-Crowned Amazon. Anyone who knows the Yellow-Crowned Amazon species group is aware that these guys just love a shower. They are extremely exuberant bathers, and they will splash and shake and try to get water all over you, so it's a bit like bathing a puppy, except that you don't use any soap, just nice clean water. Most of the time, at least one or two of the Peachfront Conures watching the show will also decide to either solicit a shower or jump in the bath. Sometimes, all of them will bathe. It's too cute.
