I've lived with Peachfront Conures Aratinga aurea for 30 years. I've bred 'em, trained 'em, even visited Bolivia to observe them in the wild. For more about me, click right here.

9:32 a.m. 2012-12-29 some new year's resolutions for peachfronted conures, i'm just sayin'Yeah, yeah, I know you can't make New Year's Resolutions for other people but I have hinted sweetly and politely to my gang of four that they should resolve to eat more fresh vegetables in 2013. Sometimes they're good about it, going to their salad and chowing down right away...and sometimes not so much. I noticed when I was holding Dale the other day that she's getting decidedly chunky. OK, the bird is getting up there, since small conure years are probably about the same as cat years, and she's 21 years old, so it's probably not too surprising that she's getting that "settled" look. But Dr. Peachfront is still prescribing lots of veggies in the New Year.
